Stephen Colbert seeks rights to name SC Republican Primary

Stephen Colbert met with South Carolina Republican Party officials and sought to buy the naming rights for the state’s Jan. 21 GOP presidential primary.  Colbert wanted to name the primary “The Colbert Nation Super PAC Presidential Primary.”  The SC Republicans carefully considered Colbert's proposal but ultimately decided to refuse his offer.  Instead, they have agreed to place a question on the ballot about corporate personhood in return for a donation from Colbert's superpac.  See below:
